Bishop’s Seven RBI Lead Legends to 21-1 Rout

| June 11, 2016

June 11, 2016 Redwood City, CA Each time Menlo Park's Turner Bishop (Old Dominion) came to bat in today's game against the Walnut Creek Crawdads there were runners in scoring position, and each time Bishop found a way to drive the runs in. Finishing the game with seven RBI, Bishop had a run-scoring double in the second, a sacrifice fly in the third and fourth innings, and then a bases loaded triple in the fifth to plate three more. It was a standout performance that may have gone unnoticed today because just about every Menlo Park hitter was driving in runs as the Legends pounded the Crawdads 21-1 at Canada College. The Legends also got great offensive performances from Sean Watkins (4-for-5, 3 RBI), Justin Jacobs (Gonzaga) (2-for-4, 3 RBI) and Patrick McColl (Harvard) (2-for-4, 3 RBI), and starting pitcher Tanner Disibio (Faulkner) pitched five innings of one-hit ball to pick up the win. See the boxscore/recap here. Also today: Thousand Oaks, CA The Conejo Oaks handed the Santa Barbara Foresters their third straight league defeat today at Sparky Anderson Field, scoring twice on Foresters' errors to win 2-1. Four Oaks pitchers combined to hold the Foresters in check, scattering seven hits and striking out seven. Isaiah Campbell (Arkansas) started the game with five shutout innings to pick up the win. See the boxscore/recap here. Long Beach, CA The game between the Long Beach Legends and the Orange County Riptide was suspended after 11 innings due to darkness. The game will be resumed prior to the next regularly scheduled game between the two teams at the same location. See the boxscore/recap here. Ventura, CA The Southern California Catch and the Ventura Halos split a doubleheader today at Ventura College with identical scores. The Catch took the first game 7-3 and the Halos turned the tables and beat the Catch 7-3 in the second game. Stats for these games were not available at post time.
